The Kislak Collection features a wide array of historic maps
dating from the 16th to the 19th century, most relating to
the region of the southeastern United States, the Caribbean
and Mesoamerica. These maps reveal the progress of cartographical
knowledge and document the new geographic discoveries of explorers
and their royal patrons. Despite early misconceptions of geography,
historic maps are fascinating and often handsome works of
art.
