![]() Diana Gonzalez Kirby Diana Gonzalez Kirby is an Associate Professor in the Library at
the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida. She is a graduate of Florida
International University, the University of Florida, and the University of
Maryland, and has master of arts degrees in Anthropology and in Library
Service. Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Ms. Kirby has lived in Miami since
1972. She has published several journal articles, monographs, and book chapters
chronicling the Cuban immigration and the changing roles of Cuban women. In
addition, Ms. Kirby has co-authored with Sara M. Sanchez professional papers
and journal articles on the evolution of Santeria, the Afro-Cuban religion that
