The Jay I. Kislak Foundation is dedicated to supporting scholarly research and contributing significantly to the knowledge and understanding of ancient and modern Florida, Mesoamerica and the circum-Caribbean region. The Foundation supports research projects in the disciplines of archaeology, history, art history, epigraphy, linguistics, ethno-history, ethnography and sociology.

Research programs are developed by the Foundation independently or in collaboration with other institutions. We sponsor and conduct various research activities that explore, analyze, interpret and disseminate information based on the historic record of the region.

Kislak research programs benefit from the significant experience of staff and Advisory Board members in the fields of history, art, archaeology, anthropology and related fields. The Foundation enjoys strong relationships with major universities, international research organizations, individual scholars, and local and regional cultural institutions.

Kislak research projects are based not only on documents and objects in the Kislak collections, but also on topics emerging from outside collections, archaeological sites and other related sources. The Foundation's library is a significant resource for international scholarship in Florida and Caribbean studies.
